James W. Connley; Chief of Bridges

James W. Connley, superintendent of bridges in Northern Kentucky for the Kentucky State Highway Department and a former captain of Kentucky State Police, died yesterday in Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati, after a long illness. He was 53 years old. Mr. Connley resided at 8 Pike St., Bromley.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Edgar V. Ritchie Post 25 of the American Legion, Ludlow. He was also a member of the Sunday Morning Club of Kenton County, and was a Colonel on the staff of the Governor of Kentucky. He belonged to Warsaw Christian Church.

Mr. Connley is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hazel Connley; his mother, Mrs. Lucy Beatty, Crittenden; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Carol Monroe, Cincinnati, and a brother, Charles E. Connley, Hollywood, Fla.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Connley Brothers funeral home, Covington. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery, Glencoe, Ky.
