James Monroe Dotson, 82, of Fayetteville, died Sept. 17 at his home. Born March 19, 1898, at Whorton's Creek (Madison County) he was the son of James and Rachel Ann Dotson. He was a retired farmer and a Pentecostal.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Erma Lollace Dotson of Bentonville; two sons, James R. Dotson of Tulsa, Okla., and Dewey Dotson of Cle Elum, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Elma) Carter, Mrs. Jack (Thelma) Ward and Mrs. Homer (Beulah) McBroom of Fayetteville; a brother, Henry Dotson of Richmond, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 in Moore's Chapel with the Rev. Ewell Logue officiating. Burial was in the Bentonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Buster Austin, Harold Simpkins, Bill Parker, Eugene Ward, Phillip Ward and Randy Franklin.
