Raymond W. Moeller, son of Herman and Mollie (Meyer) Moeller, was born May 30, 1913 at Cavour, South Dakota. He attended rural schools at Cavour and started farming near there in 1935. In 1937 he moved to the Bruce, South Dakota area and farmed there until 1942. He was united in marriage to Elsie Olson of Bruce on October 12, 1940 in Sibley, Iowa. In 1942 they moved to a farm west of Milbank, South Dakota for one year before returning to the Bruce-Estelline area in 1943. They farmed there until 1950 when he purchased the International Harvester Implement Sales and operated that for four years. He started farming again in 1953 and along with farming was a salesman for Livingstons Coin Operated Car Washes until his retirement in 1975. Ray entered the Estelline Nursing and Care Center on June 10, 2001 and died there on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 8 days. He was a baptized and confirmed member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estelline where he served on the church board. He also served on the Estelline City Council, Estelline Fire Department, Dempster Coop Elevator Board and was a member of the Estelline Commercial Club. Ray was a farmer at heart and loved traveling after their retirement.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Elsie of Estelline; three daughters, Neva Mackey and her husband John of Estelline, Connie Price and her husband Dan of Watertown, SD, Donna Geringer and her husband Doug of Bruce, SD; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, June Arbeiter and Eva Beck, both of Huron, SD and Margaret Galyen of Georgetown, IL; one brother, Kenneth Moeller of Joplin, MO; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Hank, Richard, Bill and Ed; and one sister, Hazel Beckman.
