I 'discovered' FindAGrave while using Ancestry.com in researching my own family. I felt that the data provided by FindAGrave helped filled in and verify my info, and I am committed to filling in the gaps for others who are researching their own genealogies. I select a rural cemetery, go to it and "inventory" it. I will take pictures of every marker, note discrepancies in FindAGrave data for that cemetery compared to what is on the marker, research what I can find about the family in Ancestry, newspaper archives... and make suggestions for more accurate information. I have been primarily in Hamlin, Codington, Kingsbury and Brookings Counties of South Dakota and the Big Island of Hawaii. I think every headstone should be photographed and in FindAGrave! :)
