Mrs Hannah Thatcher, one of our oldest citizens, daughter of Henry Abel, or Apple as it is written this day in this community. She died at her home in St Paris, Tuesday December 21, 1897. She was the youngest of several children. Samuel Apple and Mrs Daniel Death, lately deceased were her brother and sister. She was the mother of Daniel, Isaac, Henry, Isaiah by her first husband and Absalom Thatcher by her second husband. She had lived a widow of Absalom Thatcher for many years. She was married to her first husband David Huffman before 1843. She was born in Union County, PA March 21, 1816, and came with her fathers family to Montgomery Co, OH when only a small child. She was 81 years, 8 months, and 27 days of age. The funeral was Thursday by Rev GH Schnur. Burial took place in the old Lutheran Cemetery north of town. She also had a brother Adam Apple who died several years ago.
