Gene as he was called was the youngest of 4 sons born to Leonadous Lafayette (Lon) Price and Belzora Marilla Shelton Price. Gene and his brother Clifton were the only ones who lived to adulthood. Gene served in the U. S. Army and the U. S. Marines during World War I.
Gene spent most of his adult like in Decatur, Illinois, but made many trips back to Toomsuba, MS to visit family.
On 14 November 1921, In Elko, Elko County, Nevada,
he married Luna Douglas Adams who had previously been married in 1911 to Luther Oden Barrow. Gene and Douglas had no children of their own, but adopted a son named John E. and a daughter Betty Jane Crenshaw who married Loy Shular.

ROBERT E. PRICE DIES
IN WABASH HOSPITAL


Robert Eugene Price, 71, of 2045 E. Wood St., died at 9:10 p. m. yesterday in the Wabash Hospital.
Mr. Price was born in Toomsuba, Miss. He lived in Decatur since 1921.
He was a switchman for the Wabash, having retired in 1945 after serving 40 years.
Mr. Price was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, the Toomsuba Masonic Lodge and Oren L. Davis Post 99, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a World War I veteran.
In 1921 he was married to Luna Douglas Adams in Elko, Nev. She survives.
Mr. Price also leaves a son, John E. of Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Loy Shular of St. Louis; three brothers,
L. L. Price, John L. Price and Carl Price, all of Toomsuba.
Funeral services will be at 3 p. m. Monday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Sunday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
