Louise Lillian (Lackey) Herkins, age 82, of Brookville, Ohio, passed away at her residence Wednesday, March 19, 1997 following numerous illnesses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Etta Lackey; son, Thomas F. Herkins; brother, Wilbur R. Lackey; sisters, Mildred Kniess and Margaret Wuerstl.
A 1932 graduate of Roosevelt High School and Miami Jacobs Business College, Dayton.
Louise was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, Brookville; OES Chapter 526, Brookville & Miami Valley Golf Club.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert C. Herkins; son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Mary Herkins of Columbus; daughter, Belinda (Bindy) L. Herkins and Sam Gayton of Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Jennifer Herkins, Robert Herkins and Amy Herkins, all of Columbus, Melissa Queen of Dublin, Eric Budding of Hilliard; brother, S. Frank Lackey of Dayton; and numerous special relatives, friends and guardian angels who know who they are.
A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at Community UMC, with Pastor Rick Jones and Rev. Lysander Nelms officiating.
Interment in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
