Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, Nashville, was in charge of arrangements.
A native of Todd County, he was born March 22, 1932, the son of the late Mervin and Johnnie Banton.
He was a member of Two Rivers Baptist Church, Nashville.
Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda L. Vaughn, Nashville; two brothers, Owen A. and Morrie Banton, both of Todd County; three sisters, Dorothy Jean Lambert, San Diego, Calif.; Sherry D. Rust, Elkton, and Wanda Shelton, Hopkinsville.
