Nancy was the 6th child of Daniel Gilliland, Sr. and Precilla Boatwright. She came to the Mexican province of Texas in Jul 1830 and grew up in the years of the Republic of Texas. Nancy married John Demostinie Anders on 21 Jan 1845 in Montgomery County, Texas. John and Nancy had 13 children. Nancy died of liver disease and/or complications from childbirth about one month after the birth of her last child.
