Mrs. Irene Alberson, 80, of Gaskin, Florida went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, January 8, 2010. She was born October 15, 1929 in Lakewood, Florida to James and Nancy Brooks Norris.
Mrs. Alberson was Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Gaskin, Florida. Mrs. Alberson worked for Franklin Ferguson Factory in Florala, Alabama and she also worked for Professional Products in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She traveled extensively with her husband and family while her husband served in the United States Air Force for 23 years before his retirement. She lived many years in West End DeFuniak Springs, Florida and she enjoyed cooking for all the West End boys. She loved quilting, canning, gardening and fishing with her ‘little angel' Eddie, her grandson. She always said Eddie made her life a complete blessing.
Mrs. Alberson was preceded in death by her husband Hughey A. Alberson; three brothers Dee Norris, Rudolph Norris and Robert Norris, three sons Bobby Alberson, Pete Alberson and Eddie Alberson and one sister Lorene Tomaszewski.
Mrs. Alberson is survived by her son Billy Joe Alberson and wife Cheryl and grandson Eddie Joe Alberson all of Gaskin, Florida, one brother-in-law Ed Tomaszewski of Panama City Beach, Florida, sister-in-law Mary Norris of Warrner Robbins, Georgia, special niece Helen Carpenter of Gaskin, Florida, special friends Pat and Wayne Morrison, Pat Ealum and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, January 11, 2010 at Gaskin First Baptist Church with Reverends John Knopes and William Aplin officiating.
Burial will be held in the Gaskin Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Austin Henderson, Don Simpler, Wayne Morrison, Bobby Collinsworth, Billy Norris and Vaughn DeLong. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Morrison, Kenneth Mitchem, Kenneth Pridgen, Charles Henderson, Jerome Henderson, Gary Henderson, Bo Jones, Bo Stewart and Brother James Barrentine.
