William was the son of William Lane and Amanda Deck. He was the husband of Bessie Lane.
He was laid to rest on Feb. 8, 1924.
MO death cert. #6545

After a lingering sickness of several weeks from which he suffered from a complication of ailments, Harvey Lane passed away at his home in northeast part of town near 7 o'clock last Thursday evening. He was a son of William K. and Amanda Lane and was born near Simmons, in Texas county, Missouri, March 1, 1881. Died February 7, 1924, making his age at death 42 years, 11 months and 6 days. Mr. Lane was married to Bessie Capps July 24, 1909, and to this union were born five children, three boys: Oscar, Otto, and Lawrence; and two girls: Edna and Christina. His wife and five children survive and they will miss the honest and industrious ministrations of a kind husband and father. Besides those loved relatives he leaves a host of friends who held him in the highest esteem as an honorable and honest man.

Harve Lane served several terms as Marshal of the City of Houston and was always looked upon as conscientious in the discharge of his official duties. He was trusted by all and worked diligently when many times he was not physically able to do the work, as he has been a sufferer with a diseased leg for some time past.

A well respected man is gone. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved wife and children.

Burial took place at Oak Hill Friday, funeral services being conducted by Rev. Hiram W. Craig, in the presence of a large gathering of sorrowing relatives and friends.
