Helen Korgel rites held in Minot.
Helen Rozena Korgel, 74, Rural Minot, died Wednesday, April 8, 1922, in a Minot hospital. Her funeral was held Saturday, April 11th in Little Flower Catholic Church, with burial in Rosehill Memorial Park, both Minot.
She was born December 17, 1917 in Muskego Township, Renville County, near Foxholm, a daughter of John C. and Margaret (Keller) Bloms. She was reared and educated in Muskego Township, and later moved to Minot where she was employed at Shirley's Grocery prior to her marriage to Maynard Korgel July 9, 1946, at Minot. They since have lived in Eureka Township, Ward County, where they operated a dairy farm until their retirement in 1981, In the early 1980s, she also assisted as a cashier at Schatz Crossroads Cafe.
She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers at the church.
Surviving: husband; daughters, Diane Schatz and her husband Danny, and Jeannette (Jen) Bunyard, both Minot; sons, Donald and his wife Jane, Minot, and Lyle and his wife Nancy, Kennewick, WA; seven grandchildren, Donny, Deanne, Krista, Shallah, Shannon, Sheldon and Jessica; sisters, Rosella Bradley and Marie Hensen, both Minot, Bernice Redding, Lansford; brothers, Martin and Daniel Bloms, both Minot, Clarence, Lansford, and Henry, Carpio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Fred and Ralph, and a sister, Margaret Savelkoul.
Thompson-Larson Home of Minot handled the service.
