Funeral of C. P. Munch at 3 Today
The remains of the late Charles P. Munch, whose death occurred in Lexington, Kentucky, on Monday, are expected to arrive in DuBois this afternoon at 1 o'clock. The remains will be taken to the home of Mrs. Vina Prothero, 18 East Washington avenue, where services will be conducted at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Dr. J. Vernon Bell, of the First Presbyterian church officiating.
Mrs. Munch, according to word from Lexington, is confined in the hospital at that place and it is not known whether she is in the funeral party or not. Burial will be made in the Rumbarger cemetery.
Mr. Munch was about 52 years of age, and spent the larger part of his life in DuBois. He came to this place with the Drake and Stratton Construction company, the concern that sank Shaft No. 1, and following its completion entered the employ of the Berwind-White company. He was head book-keeper under Superintendent Anson Crist and later under C. E. Sharpless. When the last named ? Munch suceeded him to that position and was in charge of the company's large mining interests for many years. Later he moved to Eccles, West Virginia, and of recent years had been located in Lexington.
Details of his death are lacking, but he died suddenly in his room. He had not been in the best of health for over a year, but his ailment was not regarded as serious and relatives were not aware of the fact that there was any danger until a few hours before the end came.
The funeral services at the grave will be in charge of the Masonic fraternity. Owing to the short time available for arrangements no notice was sent to the members of the order, and they are asked to take this notice in liew of other, regarding the funeral arrangements.
