Seth Clark Passes Away Tues Morning

Seth Clark, 310 West Weber avenue, passed away at his home at 7:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, as the result of a complication of diseases with which he had been afflicted for the past 11 months.

The deceased had been a resident of DuBois since shortly after the great fire of 1888, having been a master mechanic on the B. & S. Railroad for many years. He was also employed at the B. & S. shafts Nos. 1 and 2, and at the Cascade mining operation in Sykesville. For several years he has been living a retired life. Mr. Clark was 77 years at the time of his death. He was born in England on March 20, 1864, and came to this country when a lad of 8 years. The Clark family lived at Wellsboro for a number of years after settling in this country, after which the deceased came to DuBois.

Mr. Clark was a man generally known and well liked in the community, and his death will be a source of regret.

Mr. Clark is survived by the following sons and daughter: Mrs. Viola Tice, John Russel Clark, and Mrs. Elizabeth Johnston, all of DuBois; James Clark, of Erie. Three half-brothers survive, as follows; Charles Burton, John Burton and Christopher Burton, all of Wellsboro. Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Mrs. Clark preceded her husband in death in June of 1926.

Definite funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services for the late Seth Clark, who passed away at his home on Tuesday morning following an illness of eleven months' duration, were held this (Friday) afternoon, 3:30 o'clock, at his home at 310 West Weber avenue. Rev. Francis Reynolds officiated at the services and interment was made in the Rumbarger cemetery.

Death certificate #46660 lists date of birth as April 20, 1864, and as Seth Clark.
