Ann Amenta Bradley, 84, of Cromwell, beloved wife of Richard Bradley for fifty-six years, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 4, 2010 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Ann was well loved for her sincerity, insightfulness and gentile manner.


Born in Cromwell, she was the daughter of the late Antonino and Lucia (Rosano) Amenta.


Ann lived all of her life in Cromwell and was a member of St. John Church in Cromwell, where she taught religion education, initiated the church library and was a member of both the choir and the Women's Club. She graduated from Middletown High School and worked at Wesleyan University in the Olin Library and in the Physics Department, retiring in 1991.


Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving family including her son, Richard A. Bradley of San Francisco; her daughter, Anne-Marie B. Coughlin and her husband, Donald of Middlefield; a brother, Sebastian V. Amenta and his wife, Mary of Cromwell; six sisters, Angela Arcidiacono, Minnie Marino, Connie Halstead, Jennie Amenta, Lil Cota, all of Cromwell, and Marie Milardo of Portland; two grandchildren, Christopher B. Coughlin and Daniel J. Coughlin; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. from the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Church, 5 St. John Court, Cromwell, with the Rev. Raymond Borkowski officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Middletown.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
