Isaac Hill Will:

In the name of Almighty God, I, Isaac Hill of Barren County and State of Kentucky, being in sound mind tho weak in body do make and ordain this my last will and testasment. It's my will and desire that my just debts should first be paid out of money's due me or out of my persihable property and after the discharge of my just debts, it's my will and desire that my wife, Mildred, should have the balance of my estate during her natural life or widowhood and should my wife think proper at any time, she may sell the land where on we now live by her purchasing of one hunbdred acres of lands of equal value where she think proper and at the close of my wife's life or widowhood, it's my will and desire that the lands that my life should own be equally divided between my two sons, Green Hill and Robin (or Rolin) Holt Hill.

It's my will and desire that at the close of my wife's life or widowhood that my son Green Hill should have my servants Rubben and Creesa and Creesa's increase should there be an increrase, also one bed and furniture, and one half of my stock of horses, Danniell excepted, also one half of the utensils.

It's my will and desire at the close of my wife's life or widowhood that my son Robin (or Rolin) Holt Hill should have my servants Jacob and Judith and Judith's increase should there be an increase hereafter, also one bed and furniture and my colt called Danniell with one half of the reminder of my stock of horses that may be on hand at my wife's death or marriage, also one half of my plantation utensils.

It's my will and desire that if my wife should think proper that she may sell as much as three of the negroes out of my stock of negroes that is not specifically given and lay the proceeds of the sale out in land which lands is at at her death or marriage to be equally divided between by three sons, Sandy, Green Robin (or Rolin) Hill.

It's my will and desire that my five children living in the State of Missouri at this time should return and live by or convenient to my wife until her death or so many as may return and so live by her shall have their equal share of all my property that may not be specifically given in this will and to all of these that do not return and live by my wife till death or marriage there shall be so much of my property sold over and above what will take to pay my just debts as will give to each one five dollars that do not return and comply with the conditions here in mentioned.

It's my will and desire that if my children, John Hill, James Hill, Tempa Allee, Margaret Birdsong, Anna Holt Allee, do not return in comply with the conditions with this will that in the dividend of my property not particularly named between my children still living here and those that may return from Missouri and comply with the within conditions that should the negroes of my sons Green Hill and Robin (or Rolin) Hill not be worth as much as the other shares then and in that case that lotts are to be made equal to the other lotts.

It's my will and desire that if any of my children die without heirs that may have gotten shares that their property so inherited shall revert back to the other children that drew lotts to be equally divided among them, this, I, Isaac Hill do declare to be my last will and testament made and confirmed this fifth of July eighteen hundred and twenty-two.
