Earl "Blacky" Reed, 81, served in the US Army during World War II with the Anti-Aircraft in the South Pacific. He later worked as a truck driver for Contractors Foundation Drilling Company in Fort Worth in for 21 years.

Earl Reed married Margaret Dillinder on 15 December 1945 at Decatur, Texas.

He lived in Decatur, Texas until moving to Olney, Texas in 1933. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the American Disabled Veterans.

Survived by his wife; one brother - Eldon Reed; one sister - Ola Mae Denny; one grandson.

His son, Earl Larry Reed, Sr preceded him in death.
