Funeral services for Mrs. Parlee Meeker were held Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Harry Aikey, in Mt. Vernon Township, Rev. E. J. Starr, Janesville officiating. Burial was in the cemetery south of Denver. Parlee Clementine Tippy was born in Cook County, Ill. Dec. 31 1853. She came with her parents to Iowa at the age of nine and had resided in this state until her death on Oct. 10. She joined the Baptist church in her youth. Her marriage to Melville Meeker took place Aug.11, 1871. Nine children were born: William, Reuben, Mrs. Zelma Acker, Mrs. Belle Cain, Mrs. Maude Aikey, Mrs. Dale McCoy, Mrs. Julia Brown, George and Roy Meeker. The last two having predeceased her. Her husband died in 1898. One sister, Mrs. Mary Mishler, Plainfield, also survives.
