Funeral services for William Wesley Yancey, 72, Athens Rt. 5, were held Saturday at the Poplar Creek Baptist Church. W.W. Coffee and J.H. Wade officiated. McConnell-Service directed burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Yancey died Thursday following a heart attack at home.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Madgie Yancey; two sons, Clifton Yancey of Arlington, Texas, and W.B. Yancey of Huntsville; four daughters, Mrs. Guy Roper of Venus, Texas, Mrs. Leon Lindsay, Tanner, Mrs. Jim Kay of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Clyde Wellden, Athens; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Yancey of Decatur and Chess Yancey of Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Glasgow of Hartselle and Mrs. Ophelia Prater of Texas.
