Following is the list of cases disposed of and action taken in the February term of district court of the seventh judicial district in and for Thayer county (sic), Nebraska:

No. 54. Claudie E. Swaney vs. Lewis I. Swaney. Divorce: Decree of divorce for plaintiff.

Lewis Swaney, 25, born August 5, 1867, and Lucinda Bortz, 23, born November 23, 1869, were married September 10, 1893 at New Vernon, PA. Lewis' previous marriage ended in divorce on October 11, 1893 in Thayer County, NE. (Source: Crawford County, PA Marriage Records)

Lewis Erwin (sic) Swaney

Lewis Erwin (sic), son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Swaney, was born in Cochranton, Penn., August 5, 1867, and moved with his parents when about 10 years of age to Nebraska, and after residing there for a year, came to Kansas where the family settled in Liberty township, Republic county, Kansas. Mr. Swaney has made his home in this state most of the years since. He died at his home in Republic, Kan., Tuesday evening, April 7, 1931, at the age of 64 years, after an illness lasting more than a year.

He was united in marriage to Lucinda Borts (sic) in Pennsylvania, and to this union three children were born: Leon (sic) Nitcher of Republic, Lottie Strickland of Hardy. The older of the three children, a son, died in infancy.

Besides the father, Mr. Daniel Swaney, he leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, the two children above mentioned, and two brothers, Ed Swaney of Kansas City and Carleton Swaney of Chester besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Republic United Brethren church(sic) at ten o'clock Friday morning by Rev. M. L. Robey and interment was made at the Chester, Neb., cemetery (sic). - Republic City News.
