Death of Mrs. George C. Newman.

Mrs. George C. Newman died at her residence here last Thursday night after a brief and very painful illness. Her death was not expected and was a great shock to her family and friends. The burial too place at the Rock Springs Cemetery on Friday afternoon and was conducted by the Pastor, Rev. A. C. Yeargan assisted by Dr. W. C. Bledsoe, an old friend and former pastor, in the presence of a great congregation of relatives and friends. The deceased was in the 47th year of her age. Besides the bereaved husband, she leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Catherine McClendon, two daughters, Mrs. E. P. Bosworth, of Birmingham, Ala., and Mrs. W. T. Bullock, of Chambers; two brothers, Messrs. Woodson and J. E. McClendon; three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Dobbins and Mrs. Sarah Cole, of Chambers, and Mrs. Ella Hart, of Aubry, Texas, and many relatives and a host of friends. The deceased had been a consistent and devoted member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church since girlhood. She was a most devoted wife and mother, a kind and thoughtful neighbor and friend. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family.
