Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Morrison Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Nivens was born in Parnell. He had lived in Dumas since 1946 and in Panhandle since 1986. He served in the Army during World War II.
He was a custodian for Dumas Independent School District and a member of First Baptist Church in Panhandle.
Survivors include two sisters, Bertie Ayers of Fort Worth and Ethel Magee of Midfield; and two brothers, Doice Nivens of Dumas and Wes Nivens of Truth or Consequence, N.M.
The family suggests memorials be to Dumas Nursing Center, 315 E. 19th St., Dumas, TX 79029; or 55 Plus of Panhandle, c/o Marvin Sparks, Panhandle, TX 79068.
The family will be at 1316 Zauk.
