Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He was AKA Benoni Stinson. He was born in Overton, Tennessee. He entered the US Army at Sacramento, California. He served as a Private in Company B, 8th US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action during August 13, and October 31, 1868 in the vicinity of the Black Mountains, Arizona Territory. His citation reads "Bravery in scouts and actions against Indians".
