Passed away September 24, 2007 in Spokane, Washington . She was born November 3, 1911 to Frank C. and Carrie Mae Davis in Spokane. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School, then from Washington State College in 1935, and spent one year as a dietician intern at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. After five years with Washington State College in their Agricultural Extension Service in Whatcom County, she moved to Pullman to work as Extension Nutritionist working with agents in all 39 counties. She earned a Master's Degree from Columbia University, then became Extension Nutritionist in Washington D.C. as liaison with nutritionists at land grant universities throughout the United States. She returned to WSU as a supervisor, then she helped to develop a home-economics program for rural women in Turkey. Her final job was as a dietician at Sacred Heart Medical Center, from which she retired in 1977. Her traveling before and after marrying Charles Meenach in 1956 was quite extensive: Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Southern Europe, Northern Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Russia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand. She is survived by her niece, Marilyn Mayer; stepson, Jack Meenach; and stepdaughter, Dahlores Bass.
