Hannah Jane "Jennie" Johnson was born 10 Aug 1846 in Henry county, Indiana to David Johnson and Belinda Davis. David was born in North Carolina and Belinda in Ohio.

When Hannah was 2 years old the family moved to Howard county, Indiana.

On 15 Feb 1881 she married Thomas Henry Price in Howard county, probably Greentown by William Lindley. She was the 2nd wife of Thomas. They had one child, Charley Virgil Price who was born in 1884 and died when he was 17 years old in 1901.

Hannah and Thomas lived in Howard county from the time of their marriage in 1881 to sometime after 1910.

Thomas and Hannah lived on E. Main St., Greentown, Indiana and were members in good standing of the First Methodist Church of Greentown. Church records state that he died 29 Feb 1920 and that she died in 1923 (although she actually died 16 Apr 1924). Aura M. Price (daughter of Thomas H. Price) also lived on E. Main St and attended the same church.

The 1920 US Census has them living in Wabash Township, Tippecanoe, Indiana because Thomas was getting medical care from the Old Soldier's Home. He died shortly after the 1920 census.

After the death & burial of her husband in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hannah moved back to Greentown to be closer to family, friends and her husband's grave.

Hannah passed away shortly thereafter, on 16 Apr 1924 in Howard county, probably Greentown. She was buried next to her husband Thomas. Her headstone reads: "Hannah J. Price, 1846 - 1924". Her lot site is #138 and her grave site is #5, next to her husband, Thomas Henry Price.

Obituary from The Kokomo Tribune, abt Apr 17-18, 1924--

"Hannah Jane Johnson, daughter of David and Malinda Johnson, was born in Henry County, Ind., August 10, 1846, and at the time of her death which occurred [Wednesday] April 16, 1924, was 77 years, eight months and six days old.

She came to Howard County with her parents when two years old, where she has lived ever since. She was married to Thomas H. Price, February 15, 1881. To this union one son was born, named Charles Virgil, who after the brief stay of 17 years passed to the great beyond.
On February 29, 1920, her husband also answered the great call, thus she was left alone.

Some 25 years ago she and her husband became members of the local Methodist Episcopal Church and until health failed and death ensued, they were both loyal to the church of their choice. For the past six years, Mrs. Price has been an invalid and during the whole of her confinement has manifested a great deal of Christian patience. As a wife, she was always loyal and true, as a mother loving and kind, as a christian honorable and clean, and as a neighbor, all that could be desired.

She leaves two sisters, Mary Peters of Kokomo, Bell Willets of Washington, D.C., also five brothers, John of Kokomo, William and Ostin [Austin] L. of Greentown, Anderson of Salome Springs, Arkansas, Oliver M. of California, and quite a number of neices and nephews.

Her end came quietly and expectently and so today, she verifies the truthfulness of the Master's words, 'Because I live, ye shall live also.'"
