Betty Jean Weltch
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the Berean Assembly of God Church in Springfield for Betty Jean Merle Weltch of Springfield, who died Dec. 27 of age-related causes. She was 79. The service will be a joint memorial for her and her husband, George Earl Weltch, who died Nov. 30.
She was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Calvin and Susan Davis Fore. She married George Weltch Jan. 29, 1948, in Eugene.
She had an 11th-grade education. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include six daughters, Gloria Stockton of Twentynine Palms, Calif., Rebecca Moorehead of Midland, Texas, and Robin Weltch, Patricia Wilson, Susan Wilcox and Valorie Smith, all of Springfield; a son, Michael of Gold Hill; two brothers, Troy Fore of Springfield and Roy Fore of Tacoma; two sisters, Wanda Durbin and Nina Eikenberry, both of Springfield; and 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
