Robert's baptism certificate, from Register of Births and Baptisms at Cross Street Presbyterian Meeting House in Manchester, Lancashire, lists birth as 25 August 1797, and baptism as 16 September 1797; parents are John Morrey and Betty Howard. This birth date differs from the date stamped on the cemetery marker. One obituary incorrectly lists his birth as 25 August 1795.

His daughter Sarah Morrey was born about 1846 in Ohio; she died 7 Aug 1915 of Consumption. Daughter Priscilla Morrey was born Sept. 1842 in Ohio; she married George Buhl, Jr.
