North Augusta, SC—Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Ware Ivey, 83, of North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest December 28, 2009 will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. Randy Cooper officiating. Interment in Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ivey was a native of Lincolnton, Georgia having made North Augusta her lifelong residence. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the Sheffield Club and a former employee of Southern Finance Corporation and Banker's First. Mrs. Ivey was the wife of the late Marvin J. Ivey, Jr.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Marion Durst, Carol Corley, all of Augusta, Anne and David Byers, Mary and Phillip Clark, all of North Augusta; a brother, George Wesley Ware, Toccoa, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Louise Ivey Avedisian, Newberry, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Lisa Ivey Durst, Caroline Durst Jones, Frank M. Durst, IV, Allyson Corley Hibbard, Kate Corley Stines, David Brannon Byers, Ivey Byers Carroll, Christopher Lucas Clark and Benjamin Joseph Clark; twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank M. Durst, IV, D. Brannon Byers, Christopher L. Clark and Benjamin J. Clark.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening from 5 until 7.
The family expresses appreciation for the wonderful care given to their Mother by Elizabeth Harmon, the caregivers of Westwood Nursing Home Alzheimer's Unit and Elmcroft Assisted Living.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1899 Central Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
