Blitz-Shannon Wedding Event Of This Evening

Miss Esther Marie Blitz will be united in marriage with Harold Wesley Shannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shannon, of Logan, Ia., at a 6 o'clock service Tuesday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blitz. Thirty guests will be present for the service, which is to be read by the Rev. Richard Knerr, pastor of Zion Congregational church (sic).

John Dietrich, violinist, will play "O Promise Me" and the bridal chorus from Lohengrin. He will accompany the ceremony with "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms."

The bride, who will be met at the foot of the stairs by her father, is wearing a white chiffon, with a gathered bodice. The bodice is finished with a square neckline and the short sleeves are puffed. The skirt, slightly trained, falls in soft folds from a tight beaded girdle. Her finger tip veil is caught into a cluster crown of white roses and she is carrying bridal roses. Miss Blitz is completing her costume with satin toeless sandals, and her only ornament is a locket of her mother's.

A wedding supper follows for the immediate families. The wedding cake and roses will be used on the table. Assisting in the dining room are Misses Esther Reitz, Helen Barthule, and Lydia Blitz, and Mrs. Henry Blitz, jr. Mrs. Peter Rietz is receiving the guests and will have the guest book.

Mr. Shannon and his bride are going to Logan, Ia., for their wedding trip, after which they will be at home at 611 A street (sic), Lincoln. She is traveling in a black tailored suit with a swagger jacket and patent leather accessories. Her hat is in the off-the-face mode.

Guests from out of the city are Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shannon and sons, Max and Willis, and Mrs. Mary Van Connor, Logan, Ia.; and Albert Shannon, Des Moines.
