The birth location of Shadrach and his brother Jeremiah Hitchcock is unknown. The long standing belief is that they and or their parents were from Rhode Island. I will not agree with this . The brothers may have been born in New York or an adjoining state like Massachusetts. I have not found nor has anyone found info for them in Rhode Island. I have found a large # of Hitchcock s coming from central Massachusetts. I will continue to look to solve this. Shadrach's wife Betsey Coon and her family were from Rhode Island. She is likely buried in this cemetery too! I descend from their youngest son Freeman Hitchcock. He and several of his siblings are buried in the Five Mile Cemetery, in Allegany ,Catt. County, N.Y.
