There was a controversy on the year he was actually born. He gave his age as 68 when admitted to the Bay Pines V.A., in St. Pete Florida.
Lewis S. Draper of Hinkle Hollow Road, Cohocton, died Monday morning at the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital, St. Petersburg Fla.
He had been living at Enterprise, Fla for the winter.
He had lived in Cohocton for many years and had been employed as an auto mechanic in Bath and Canandaigua. He retired from Polio (Polly-O) Dairy, Campbell, five years ago.
He was a member of Avoca American Legion Post 1350 and a US Navy Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel: four daughters, Mrs. Barbara Buckley of St. Petersburg Fla.: Mrs. Betty Rumsey of clearwater Fla: Mrs. Millie Stock of Campbell NY: and Mrs Louise Osborne of Bath NY. One step daighter, Mrs. Lillian MaGill of Beuna Vista: Three sisters, Mrs Mary Sharman of Corning NY,; Mrs. Mabel Statts of Deland Fla, and Mrs. Margaret Merrill of Bath.
27 Grandchildren : four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
