The son of Thomas Jefferson Hunt and Minerva Ennis, Presley married Cora Elizabeth Manning on 23 Dec 1899 in Farmington, St. Francois County, Missouri. They were the parents of 5 children, although 3 died in very early childhood.

Presley and Cora lived in St. Francois County. He worked as a lead miner. They moved to St. Louis, Missouri before 1910, and he worked there as a laborer. He then was hired as a motorman by the United Railway Company.

Presley and Cora divorced around 1919. She later remarried and lived in the Kansas City area with the children.

Children from first marriage: 1 daughter, 1 son, 3 infants.

Presley then married Mrs. Susie Tucker. She was the mother of 2 children from a previous marriage. Presley, Susie and her children lived in Smithton, St. Clair County, Illinois where he worked as a farm laborer. They moved back to St. Louis in the 1920's, and he worked as a laborer doing odd jobs.

Children from second marriage: 1 step-daughter, 1 step-son.

Presley married his third wife, Nancy E. (nee Leach) Nickelson, in the 1930's. She was a widow and the mother of 1 son. She was a member of Glen Echo Baptist Church.

By 1940, Presley worked as a millwright for a company in the electrical tractor motor business.

Nancy died of stomach cancer in 1945.

Presley was hospitalized in late December of 1948 at St. Louis County Hospital. He was suffering from prostate cancer, pneumonia and high blood pressure, but died at the hospital on New Year's Eve 1948 from a cerebral hemorrhage. At the time of his death, he was 72 years, 3 months and 25 days old.

He was survived by 1 sister, May Baker; 1 brother, Lawrence A. Hunt; and extended family members. [His children were not mentioned in his obituary, though he was survived by both of them.]

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. on the afternoon of 03 Jan 1949 at Baumann Brothers Funeral Home in Overland, Missouri.
