Byron S.Ater, 62, farmer residing near Long Creek died at 5:15 am Tuesday in his home after a years illness with anemia.
Mr.Ater was born near Cisco Piatt, county,Nov. 23,1869, the son of Mr.and Mrs.Richard Ater. He was married to Miss Mary Cossett, in 1890. Mrs.Ater preceding him in death May 18,1929. He leaves seven children,Frank,Charles Ater,Argenta,Roy c.Ater, Decatur, Byron F. Ater,Newell,Pa. Vernie and Russell Ater at home,and Mrs.Ruth Adkins,Decatur. He leaves also the following brothers and sisters Frank Ater, Harvel, Henry Ater, of Oklahoma,Mrs.Iva Still,Forsyth, Mrs.Emma Peck,Bement and Mrs. Effie Kraiger,Toppenish,Wash.
Mr.Ater had been a resident in the Long Creek community for 30 years. He was a member of the Methodist church.
The body was taken to the Monson funeral home,where friends may call until noon Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 1;30 pm Thursday in the Long Creek Methodist church with burial in Long Creek cemetery.
