Lella P. Henderson of Gatesville died April 19 in a Gatesville hospital. She was 97.
Graveside services were held Friday at Restland Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Nelson officiating.
Mrs. Henderson was born Sept. 9, 1902, in Rising Star, the daughter of the late James and Mittie Palmer. She was reared and attended school in Texas. She married Marvin Eakin in 1926, and he preceded her in death in 1942.
She later married J.P. Henderson in 1955, and he preceded her in death in 1984.
She moved to Gatesville in 1984. She attended Mound Cowboy Church.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Carl Eakin in 1989 and Duane Eakin in 1990.
Survivors include three daughters, Marva Y. Jones of Gatesville, Betty G. Hanley of Hesperia, CA, and Elaine Guthrie of Gatesville; two sons, Robert L. (Bob) Eakin of Mt. Vernon and Gleason J. Eakin of Portland, OR; two sisters, Ruth Locklear of Napa, ID, and Erma List of San Juan Capistrano, CA; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
