Oris E. "Moon" Rooks, 80, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at his residence in Edinburgh.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva (Bryant) Rooks; two children, Charlotte Gabbard and Kevin Rooks, both of Edinburgh; one brother, James Raymond Rooks of Taylorsville; and two sisters, Annie Bennett of Shelby County and Hazel Kell of Edinburgh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Myrtie (Bryant) Rooks.
The Rev. Guy Hardin will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church, 1010 S. Main St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Long Funeral Home in Edinburgh is handling arrangements.
