Elenora Susan (Doerr) Ball, 82, died Oct. 1, 2009, at the Billings Clinic.

Elenora was born Dec. 15, 1926 in Lovell, the sixth of eight children born to Carl John and Estella (Lynn) Doerr. She spent most of her youth in Lovell.

She married James Ball in 1946 and they later divorced. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in education in 1963. While living in Casper, Elenora taught school and completed her Master of Arts degree from the University of Wyoming. She later moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. where she taught elementary school for 19 years in District No. 11 at Howbert School. Although she had no children of her own, she was loved by her many nieces, nephews and her students.

Upon retirement, she moved back to Lovell to be near her family and was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the community.

Elenora suffered greatly from diabetes and other physical ailments which limited her activities in her later years.

Elenora was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Lynn, Norman, Gerald and Richard; her sisters, Irene and Beverly; and her nephews, Gerald Asay and Bill Doerr. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Hazel) Doerr of Byron; her sister-in-laws, Leta Brown, Shirley Doerr, and Lorece Doerr; brother-in-laws, Orvin Asay and Bob Mower; and 22 nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Lovell LDS Stake Center. Interment followed at the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
