David H. Robertson Is Dead; Old Soldier and Former Resident Here

David H. Robertson, 84, Civil war veteran and resident of Lafayette for many years, died of pneumonia at 4:10 a. m., Monday at the Soldiers' Home.

Mr. Robertson was born in Lafayette, January 9, 1845. For many years he was a plasterer, in partnership with the late George Davis, also a Civil war veteran. During the war he served with the 77th Indiana Volunteers. Twenty-eight years ago, Mr. Robertson moved to Indianapolis with his family, and a year ago came to the Soldiers' Home with his wife. He had been a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge No. 55.

Surviving are the widow; a brother, James Robertson, of Gary; three sisters, Mrs. Gold Jackson, Gary; Mrs. Emma McDonald and Mrs. George Huch, Lafayette; a daughter-in-law and two grandsons, Indianapolis, the latter including Roy Robertson, who was a golf professional at the Lafayette Country club for several years.

Funeral services will be held at the Templeton funeral home, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, with the Rev. D. B. Kessinger, of Grace U. B. church, in charge. The body will then be removed to the Indianapolis family home, 1237 Eugene street; services will be held there Wednesday afternoon with interment in Crown Hill cemetery.
