Mrs. Jennie A Merritt, 68 years old, a resident of Indianapolis forty-seven years, died yesterday afternoon in her home on North Tremont Avenue after an illness of six months. Mrs. Merritt was born and reared in Shelby County.
Private funeral services will be held in the Flanner & Buchanan mortuary, 25 West Fall Creek boulevard, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery. Mrs. Merritt was a member of the West Park Christian Church. She was the widow of R. A. Merritt, who died five years ago.
Survivors are two children by a first marriage, Mrs. Bertha B McCracken, with whom she made her home, and Charles E Alger of Palestine, Ill, and two brothers, Richard Davis of Silver Lake and William Davis of Danville.
