Indianapolis Star- Sunday, October 7, 1906:

After an illness of four weeks, Mrs. George U. Bingham, wife of G. U. Bingham of the office of Auditor of State, died yesterday morning at her home on East Drive, Woodruff Place.

She was, before her marriage, Miss Bertha Hendricks, a niece of former Vice President Thomas A. Hendricks. Mrs. Bingham's son and her mother, Mrs. Hendricks, are at present critically ill in the Woodruff Place home of typhoid fever, the disease which caused Mrs. Bingham's death. The funeral will, therefore, be held privately at the home tomorrow morning. The burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
