JUDGE-ELECT MAHLON E. BASH WILL WED TOMORROW EVENING
Young Lawyer to Marry Friend's Secretary He Met on Chance Visit to Office
A young Lawyer with a good practice hasn't much time in working hours to pay visits, but that doesn't mean he can't occasionally cross the hall to borrow a match or a sheet of carbon paper. Judge-elect Mahlon E. bash of Probate Court has an office in the Lemcke Building and one day that very thing happened to him. He needed something and went across the hall to Ralph A. Lemcke's office and immediately became ensnared in the pretty smile of Miss Ona Kingen, who was Mr. Lemcke's private secretary. Thereafter he dropped in every once in awhile for something or other and then he and Miss Kingen went to dinner or the theater. It got to be a regular thing, then Mr. Bash pleaded guilty and at 8 o'clock tomorrow evening will go before the Rev. J.N. Greene, pastor of the Broadway M. E. Church, for Miss Kingen admitted her complicity in his love affair.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kingen of McCordsville, Ind., but has made her home for some time with Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Kirtley, 649 East Forty-fourth street. Mr. Bash has made his home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Bash, 28 North Bradley street, but has furnished a home at 50 Campbell avenue, where he will take his bride after a short honeymoon visit in St. Louis. Mr. Bash was born in Indianapolis and obtained his education in law at Indiana University. He was elected probate judge at the election last month and will take the bench Jan. 1.
