Daniel H. Bible was born June 18, 1873 in Astoria, Fulton Co., Illinois. His family settled in Bethel Township, McDonough County, Illinois. His father, Josiah Bible and his mother, Caroline E. Bible, had a good sized family. He was the youngest in his family. In the 1880 US Census, he had the following siblings: Ella V. 19y; Ida B. 17y; Ulysses G. 16y; Merietta 14y; Harry E. 12y; Willie W. 10y; and his twin brother, Josiah D. Bible 6y.

His twin brother's family moved on to Chariton, Mo. by 1920.

Daniel was a farmer in the Bethel area. He is listed as married, in the 1910 US Census, to Maribelle, maiden name unknown.

Sometime after that, Daniel lived and worked in Plymouth. He is listed as an auto repair mechanic

At the time he died on Dec. 22, 1922, he was married to Iva Bible, who was a country school teacher. She was teaching in Brown County in 1935. In 1940 she was listed as a widow and was a boarder living in Mendon, Ill. I assume she was still teaching.
