George Wesley Bower, 59, formerly of Chanute, KS, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 1967 in Long Beach, California. He had been ill two years.
He was born Feb. 22, 1907, in Chanute, Kansas to John A. & Lotus Bernice (Burlingame) Bower.
He had attended the Chanute schools.
On June 4, 1928, he was married to Lorene (Verdot) Osborne. She survives.
They moved to Long Beach, CA, in 1943, where he was employed by the City of Los Angeles, CA.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Beverly) Samuel, of Anaheim, CA, and Mrs. George (Nancy Jo) Ingle, of Long Beach, CA; two sons, John Wesley Bower, of Orange, CA, and Jerry Milo Bower, of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, OK; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Duane (Joan) Zeiger of Anaheim, CA, and Mrs. Harry (Alice Dean) Koenig, of Oklahoma City, OK.
He was a member of Sunflower Chapter, Eastern Star, and Cedar Lodge 103 Masons of Chanute.
A Masonic service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1967, at the Dilday Funeral Home, Long Beach, California.
