SUN PRAIRIE - Royce E. Wampole of Sun Prairie passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Willows Nursing Home. He was born on July 24, 1915, in Fairchild, the son of Robert and Elsie (Ames) Wampole.

He married Mabel Lovicott on March 15, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa. Royce was a veteran of World War II. He later farmed in Beaver Dam and Fairchild. After retirement, he returned to the Sun Prairie area.

He loved to spend time with his family, go out to eat, and tinker with cars.

Royce is survived by his wife, Mabel; two daughters; five sons; 30 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; five sisters; three brothers; and other friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susie; a grandson, Davey; three sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007, at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Hauge Cemetery, Keyeser, with military rites conducted.
