Ellender Wallace (whose name is variably spelled Eleanor , Ellin, or Elendor) may be the daughter of John Wallace/Wallic/Wallis of Wayne, KY, soldier of the Revolution from NC whose second wife Frances' widow's pension application (W25897) states he had 4 children with his first wife: Ellin, Mary Ann, John, and George Washington Wallace. Based on censuses Ellender Wallace was born 1797-1801.
According to family histories Ellender Wallace probably got involved with Silas Bell when he went to Tennessee in 1822 to sell horses. Silas was still married to his first wife Lucretia Walker and their divorce was not granted until Oct 1827 after Ellender and Silas had married in Blount County TN (22 Jan 1826) and their sons Silas Bell Jr. (19 Nov 1823) and John Wallace Bell (25 Oct 1825) had been born.

After Ellender's son John Wallace Bell lost his wife Eliza Jane Allen (d. Nov 1853) leaving him with four young children: Mary Ellen, Silas, Thomas J, and Anna Eliza, Ellender left Silas and went to Tennessee to help her son. In 1856 the extended Bell family moved to Dade County MO. Silas had gone to Texas. Ellender's daughter Mary Ann Bell Wilson and Ellender's son Silas also lived in Dade County MO. By 1860 Mary Ann Wallace Small, believed to be Ellender's sister was also living in Polk Township.
Ellender is listed in the 1860 Polk Twp, Dade, MO census with the Wilsons but is not found in 1870. According to descendants, Ellender Wallace Bell was a midwife.
