Obituary - FLORENCE YOUNGMAN
Florence A. Mendell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Mendell was born March 26, 1865, at Laughtentown (sic), Pennsylvania and passed away February 9, 1959, after a breif (sic) illness at the Minden (sic) Hospital. She had reached the age of 93 years, 10 months and 17 days.
She was united in marriage to Dr. J. R. (sic) Youngman at Tecumseh, February 22, 1883. To this union were born four daughters. Her husband and two daughters preceded her n (sic) death. She was united with the Methodist Church at an early age and remained a faithful Christian.
She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters: Mrs. Sherman Ball of Elsie, Nebraska and Mrs. Mae Boylan of McMinnville, Oregon; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Chester, Nebraska at 2 o'clock on Thursday, Febr. 12, 1959. The Rev. Duane Hutchinson officiated. Pallbearers were Harley Herald, Gene Woodward, Lee Larkins, John Sell, Fred Duey and Joe Duey. Mrs. Fred Duey and Mrs. Lawrence Eickman sang accompanied by Mrs. F. C. Haifleigh. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Chester cemetary (sic).
