The daughter of George Moore and Almira Davis, Elva married Elias Scott on 07 Jul 1902 in Union, Franklin County, Missouri.

They were the parents of 8 children. He was a section foreman and laborer for a steam railroad for a number of years. He then worked as a laborer and nurseryman, before returning to his career on the steam railroad.

Elva died at her home of pneumonia. At the time of her death, she was 71 years, 11 months and 16 days old.

She was survived by 2 daughters, Theresa Viehmann and Doris Coyle; 4 sons, Earl Scott, Frank Scott, George Scott and Morris Scott, Sr.; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

In addition to her mother and father, Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Elias; and 1 son, James Scott.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. on the afternoon of 28 May 1956 at Baumann Brothers' Funeral Home on Woodson Road in Overland, Missouri.
