JACOB BREMER
Mr. Jacob Bremer, an old and highly respected citizen of Union township, died at his home west of Derby, Monday afternoon. The deceased had been in poor health for some time and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Bremer was born in Jefferson county, N. Y., August 26th, 1824.
On February 14, 1850, he was married to Abigail Hoxie, who with four children, mourn the loss of this kind and affectionate husband and father.
The children are Mrs. Thornton Morris, of Missouri, Mrs. Jacob Seward, of Harold, South Dakota, Newton Bremer and Miss Nora Bremer, of Derby.
In 1869, Mr. Bremer and family came to Iowa settling on a farm west of Derby which has since been his home. Mr. Bremer was an exemplary citizen and his life was characterized by a kindly spirit toward all with whom he came in contact. He will be greatly missed, not only by those of the home circle, but by many friends and neighbors as well.
Funeral services were held at the home of N. M. Bremer, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. W. Armstrong. Interment was made in the Derby cemetery.
