BOONE, VIRGINIA, 73, of Louisville, passed away Friday at Sacred Heart Village. She was the former Virginia Buckman, a native of Marion County, KY, and a retired bookkeeper for St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, where she was a member. She was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Ladies' Guild of her church. Survivors include her sister, Mildred Boklage; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Amanda Battcher, Callista Mudd, Ann Hagan, Charlotte Blair and Bobby Boone (Rita); and a number of nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, with burial in St. Ann's Cemetery in Howardstown, KY. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Rd. Memorial gifts may go to Masses for the deceased or to Mass of the Air.

A native of Marion County, Boone was a retired bookkeeper for St. Bartholomew Catholic Church where she was also a member. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph Kelly and Mary Virginia Boarman Buckman; and her husband, Thomas Louis Boone. Survivors include: a sister, Mildred Boklage. A funeral Mass was held Jan. 24 at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Louisville, with burial in St. Ann's Cemetery in Howardstown. Memorial donations can be made to Masses for the deceased or to Mass of the Air. Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, Bardstown Road, was in charge of the arrangements.
