OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)

Lila Pore, 86, of Wabash, died at 4:43 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor East in Wabash.

She was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Wabash to Ed and Lettie (McFall) Owen. She married John Pore in Wabash on Dec. 19, 1945; he died Aug. 10, 1976. She worked at Gackenheimer Pharmacy in Wabash 17 years. Lila enjoyed bowling, and bowled in several Wabash women's bowling leagues. She also enjoyed collecting dolls, crocheting, and reading Danielle Steele novels, and especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by son, Ronald (Susan) Pore of Wabash; daughter, Neva "Ann" (Hector) Garza of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Tara (Norman) Macias of Cypress, Texas, Todd (Christi) Bland, and Missy Lundmark, both of Wabash; five great-grandchildren, Bailey Lundmark of Wabash, Zachary Macias of San Antonio, Derrick Bland, Tennessee, Hayley Bland and Joseph Bland, both of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Troy Bland, who died July 1988, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash Chapel, 1241 Manch-ester Ave. Wabash on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12-2pm Thursday at the funeral home.
