Omar Harvey Sharp, 86, of Oak Ridge, passed away on Dec. 3, 2006, at NHC HealthCare Center.

He was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Decatur, Ala., to Richard and Audrey Waddell Sharp. Mr. Sharp retired after 35 years as a general supervisor in the Operations Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He was a member of the East Fork Masonic Lodge, Palmyra Masonic Lodge and Knoxville Scottish Rite for over 50 years. Mr. Sharp was also a charter member of the Paragon Health Club and a member of United Church Chapel on the Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Gardner Sharp of Oak Ridge; daughter, Betty Sharp Wallace and her husband, Larry of Knoxville; grandchildren, Suzanne Renee Smith and her husband, Jason of Arlington, Tenn., and Derek Sharp Wallace of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Haylee Nicole Smith and Hanna Lea Smith of Arlington, Tenn.; sisters, Faye McNabb of Oak Ridge, Dot Hunter of Nashville, and Olene Rhoades of Largo, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Imogene Harston and her husband, Jimmy of Memphis and Joy Yarbro of East Detroit, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at 3:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Boyd Carter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Church Chapel on the Hill, 85 Kentucky Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
